About Us
Since 1937, the mission of the UESO is to further the knowledge of matters concerning entomology, bridge the gap between faculty, undergraduate students and graduate students, and for the general good fellowship of its members.
UESO is a school-year organization open to all Texas A&M undergraduates who are interested in entomology, regardless of their major. Socials are every first Thursday and meetings are every first and third Thursday. Other events include Chili Cook-off, Big Event, camping, collecting, local outreach, professional meetings and Replant.
Even though the department is small, with about 94 majors and 50 minors and double majors, getting to know everyone is still difficult. UESO helps to bring students with similar interests together through meetings, socials, and events. You have the opportunity to meet many people and make lasting friendships. UESO also works very closely with our advisors and faculty within the department to bridge the gap between professors and students; making your classroom experiences more fun and memorable. Anyone is welcome to join, being an entomology major is not a requirement!
