Community Service
UESO is also a great organization to get involved with to help give back to the great commnunity that we share our university with. Each year we are a part of at least three major events that accomplish this.
- Adopt-A-Highway—Along Highway 30 between Harvey Road and Cole Lane, the UESO visibly impacts our community which results in some well-deserved Texas pride
- Replant—Established in 1991, Replant helps replace some of the trees that are lost due to Bonfire. Although Bonfire is an on-campus remembrance rather than an occurrence, the UESO still continues to give back to the environment.
- The Big Event—Established in 1983, Big Event is the largest community service project in the nation which the UESO is ready and willing to commit to.
UESO proudly takes part in these service projects to show our community respect and appreciation. In addition, we play a large part in the department's outreach program and we also volunteer at the Entomological Society of America branch and national meetings.
